With the advent of the Paris Agreement 2015, countries are now expected to report to each other updates in their implementation of targets. They are also to track their progress towards the long-term goal through a robust transparency and accountability system.
Trinidad and Tobago as well as several other Caribbean and regional countries are signatories to this agreement.
As Small Island Developing States (SIDS), we are especially vulnerable to climate change and its associated effects. As a result, it should and would be in our interest to assess our contribution to global carbon levels in order to be able to quantify any mitigation and reduction measures.
We at Sygma Environmental, with our trained and certified staff, can assess the carbon output and essential “footprint” of your organization though investigation and calculations, using data gathered from metrics such as energy consumption and vehicle fleet size and type.
The methodology employed follow in accordance with international standard practices as detailed by:
ISO 14064-1:2006 – Specification with guidance at the organizational level for quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and removals
ISO 14064-2:2006 – Specification with guidance at the project level for quantification, monitoring and reporting of greenhouse gas reductions and removal enhancements
ISO 14064-3:2006 – Specification with guidance for the validation and verification of greenhouse gas assertions
Let us assist your organization in playing its part nationally and internationally in its carbon reduction effort.
